We are at the end of week five of the summer break and boy are we all ready for back to school.
I have seen the above post posted quite regularly across most social media platforms and I totally get it. This year I have been lucky enough to be able to take a bit more time than normal and made some amazing memories. We have walked with dinosaurs, have enjoyed a week in Paris / Disneyland, we have celebrated birthdays, we have walked beaches, shopped till we dropped visited the local cat cafe, crafted, baked (once but it did happen) had countless hot tub parties and a few play dates with friends. (For the record our laz-y-spa is the best 500 quid we have ever spent)
That being said we have to work. We have a pretty hectic career schedule and sometimes plans have to go out of the window. Summer camps have and family have been utilised regularly as an affordable means of childcare to get that balance days put aren’t cheap!
There hits a point where the fun and later nights catch up and you all crave your ‘normal’ routine back. The kids are now desperate to see their friends and learn, they are desperate to go back to school and learn new things come home and tell us all about it.
We all have that thirst for knowledge which means we are all keen to crack on with work and school and grow and see different people we love each other mutely but hey give us more regular breaks across the year give us two weeks at half term and a bit more at xmas or even a week more often but please 6 weeks is just too long for us.
